THE STONE TOWN:
Very few cars enter this fascinating historic town with its narrow streets
and carved doors. A guideed walking tour is recommended. There are a number
of trditional hotels within the Stone Town itself (many of this do not
permit alcohol on the premises) and the excellent Zanzibar Serena Inn
or the smaller Tembo hotel offer accomodation close to the town.
Between the town and the Airport lie the fascinating
Mbweni Ruins Hotel and Fisherman's Resort.
THE EASTERN BEACHES:
Miles of unspoilt sandy beaches, modern hotels and a full range of water
sports.
The Bluebay Beach Resort lies to the north east, and Bleezes Club and
Karafuu Beach Hotel are directly to the south east of Stone Town..
